REGIONAL DRIVER (2,000-2,500 MILES/WEEK) Regional drivers are responsible for the safe and timely pick up and delivery of refrigerated and dry freight in the Western Region of the United States. We use state of the art equipment and software to ensure efficiency. Our small fleet size helps to optimize driver utilization for reduced downtime. Our regional lanes are designed so a driver can be home every 3-5 days if they live in our hiring areas. Some trips may only require 1-2 nights out but are only available on a limited basis. Requirements: Valid Class A CDL DOT Medical Certification from a provider on the national registry Submit to a DOT Pre Employment drug screen and periodic drug and acohol testing according to DOT and company policy 2 years Over-The-Road experience ( some consideration for drivers >1 years experience who can exemplify safety, knowledge, and skills required for the position) Clean MVR, CSA, and DAC Working knowledge of Elog and HOS regulations Reefer experience preferred but not required Duties: Perform thorough pre and post trip equipment inspections to identify any maintenance issues that require attention to ensure safe operation and compliance with all DOT regulations. Communicate with dispatch and support staff in day-to-day matters and to resolve issues such as breakdowns, scheduling issues, and hours of service. Communicate proffessionally with Shippers, Receivers, and Customers as each load may require Navigate tractor and 53 ft semi trailer according to route instructions with utmost safety; identifying appropriate speed and manuevers for every changing weather and traffic conditions. Proactively plan out your dispatch considering load scheduling, route, and HOS to identify and communicate issues with dispatch. Secure and weigh load to ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local lows for height and weight Set and maintain load temperatures according to Bill of Lading Report any incident, accident, or OS&D in a timely manner and assist as necessary for resolution Participate in ongoing safety training as prescribed by the Safety Department Have the knowlege and physical ability to install tire chains if required Perform light mechanical duties such as changing a fuse or lightbuld This position may require the following physical requirments Step up to 18" Lift up to 50 lbs Carry up to 50 lbs With one arm lift and pull up to 20 lbs from side to side With one arm pull back 120 lbs Stoop/Squat to a height of 48"
