Sun Mar Healthcare is currently seeking a well-versed HR Leader to join our organization. To us, an HR Manager is the go-to person for employee-related issues. Within our organization, the HR Manager duties will involve working as a consultant to our facilities to provide them with guidance in regards to employee relations, performance management, training & development, recruitment, and talent management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring facility management has the resources and tools necessary to comply with all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Provide guidance to facilities on day to day HR related topics to ensure they maintain compliance.
  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiates aligned with overall company goals
  • Ensure facilities are following guidelines within the CBA if necessary.
  • Support current and future business needs through the development, engagement, motivation and preservation of human capital.
  • Develop and monitor overall HR strategies, systems, tactics and procedures across assigned region.
  • Assess training needs to apply and monitor training programs.
  • Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management.
  • Support facilities with survey preparation audits.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state leave policies.
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues.
  • Experience in conflict resolution, disciplinary processes, and workplace investigations.
  • Provide guidance to facilities and work as a liaison with the workers comp carrier for designated facilities.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Proven working experience as HR Manager or HR Leader
  • People oriented and results driven
  • Demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases
  • In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Previous union experience is a plus
  • This position will be based out of Brea, CA with occasional travel throughout our California facilities. (Approx. 25-50% of the time)
  • Previous experience working in a skilled nursing company is a plus
