Job description

We are hiring several RN's to work in addiction/ substance abuse in outpatient clinics in Manhattan and Brooklyn. The RN will provide medical evaluation and treatment for adults age 18 years and older. The RN will collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, attend clinical meetings and see patients individually as determined by their clinical need, as assigned by the Medical Director. He/she will monitor indicated medications for patients in withdrawal - detox services, and will assume responsibility for assuring adequate supplies of prescribed medications and refills, as well as assuring accurate Medication Reconciliation and prescriptions for clients at discharge.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for taking and documenting medical and nursing history for patients during admission assessment and completing nursing assessment;
• Monitor, document communicate with team any patient reported side effects from withdrawal medications;
• Provide and document on-going counseling services to patients;
• Order random urinalysis as per physician’s instructions;
• Supervised by and reports directly to Nursing Supervisor;
• Updates physician daily regarding all patients seen and coordinates patient care with the physician;
• Coordinate discharge medications with the physicians and social workers;
• Participates in team meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nurse training program;
• Maintains a current NYS Registered Nurse license;
• Experience in addiction nursing with strong preference for detox experience;

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $68,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
