RN in Hematology/Oncology

Busy Oncology practice seeking an office-based Registered Nurse. Candidate needed to focus on improving patient health, experience, ensuring high-quality outcomes for patients with chronic diseases. Participates in relevant quality assurance and performance improvement measures. Previous oncology experience preferred.

POSITION DESCRIPTION & DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Record patients’ medical histories and symptoms

· Administer patients’ medicines and treatments

· Set up plans for patients’ care or contribute to existing plans

· Observe patients and record the observations

· Consult and collaborate with doctors and other healthcare professionals

· Operate and monitor medical equipment

· Help perform diagnostic tests and analyze the results

· Must be responsible and detail oriented to make sure that patients get the correct treatments and medicines at the right time.

· Teach patients and their families how to manage illnesses or injuries

· Explain what to do at home after treatment

· Performs other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

· HighSchool diploma or equivalent

· Florida License required

· 2+ years’ experience in a medical setting with formal medical training.

· Coding education helpful

· Knowledge of Athena, CPT and ICD 10 codes

· Excellent oral, written and organizations skills with the ability to be flexible and deal effectively with staff, physicians and patients.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to walk, stand and sit intermittently. Upon occasions be able to assist in properly moving a patient. Be able to lift up to 30 pounds. May need to push or pull medical equipment. May have to stoop, bend knees and/or reach. Must be able to use the keyboard on a computer. Phone work required.

Personal Qualities: Develops and maintains good relationships with co-workers. Demonstrates good judgment when dealing with sensitive issues. Must have the ability to address sensitive issues in a confidential manner. Supports organizational and department goals. Commitment to the team approach and displays the ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with other employees and the public. Contributes important information. Dresses appropriately for position. Maintains a high degree of dependability.
