Mt. Macrina Manor is a 133 bed, not for profit, skilled nursing facility that has served Southwestern Pennsylvania since 1971. The grounds are located approximately one hour south of Pittsburgh in a scenic, peaceful rural area directly off Route 40 in Uniontown. The facility offers 24 hour nursing care, rehabilitative services, memory care, and pastoral care to all denominations. General Description:

The R.N. Supervisor is responsible for the clinical and administrative needs of the unit(s). He/She implements goals by planning, organizing and controlling nursing interventions and directs nursing personnel to ensure conformity with the use of nursing objectives to attain quality resident care.

Essential Duties:

  • Demonstrate an understanding and puts into practice person-centered philosophy by entering into a relationship with the residents, families and staff where the goal is to provide a comfortable and home-like environment and the relationship develops into a meaningful and satisfying one for all involved.
  • Develops and monitors the nursing unit personnel standard of performance for State and Federal compliance. Insures compliance with community policy and procedures.
  • Participates with the interdisciplinary team to establish individualized plans of care for residents.
  • Communicates with the health care team all pertinent data related to resident care in order to assure quality of care delivery.
  • Provides leadership, direction and counseling to the licensed and non-professional when appropriate to uphold the nursing and Mt. Macrina Manor standards of practice.
  • Participates in rounds with the physician when necessary.
  • Performs venipuncture, administer and discontinues I.V. therapy, administer T.P.N. and intradermal skin testing.
  • Monitors the daily assignment sheet for their respective tour of duty.
  • Coordinates and supervises the unit clerk if on duty between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
  • Develops and implements unit based staff meetings and educational programs for the training and orientation of staff when necessary.
  • Assist and performs technical aspect of care in accordance with established standards as needed.
  • Responsible to carry out administrative needs of community as directed in the absent of administrative staff.
  • Assist the physician in making unit rounds.
  • Maintain appropriate licensure.
  • Customer Service: Demonstrates an understanding and puts into practice excellent customer service by creating a positive first impression, handling with care, being a team player, communicating professionally and acting like an owner.
  • Compliance: Demonstrates commitment to operating in accordance with Mt. Macrina Manor’s mission, vision, and values. Specifically this means maintaining accuracy and integrity in all of its activities, including providing quality, timely, and necessary care to its residents and operating within the limits of local, state and federal regulations.
  • HIPAA: Demonstrates confidentiality through a conscious effort to keep all personal information private. This may include the resident’s identity, physical or psychological condition, emotional status, or financial situation.
  • Actively participates in the Resident Dining Program after completing the Feeding Assistant
  • Training Program unless already licensed or certified in an appropriate field.
  • Any and all other duties, as assigned.

Education & Experience:

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Pennsylvania.
  • Previous supervisory and health care institution experience preferred.
  • Experience in the field of geriatrics.
  • Demonstrates good leadership skills and possesses the ability to motivate employees.
  • Organization skills required for timely completion of assigned tasks and projects.
  • Ability to complete tasks independently and within a group environment.
  • Proficient in communication and listening skills.
  • Possess a positive attitude to help promote a healthy work environment.
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Point Click Care (PCC), Answers on Demand (AOD), eHealth Data Solutions, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of current Federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general information in the English language.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to walk, lift, bend at knees and waist, stoop, kneel, reach, climb step stool, and stand in place for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to push or pull up to 100 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to use close vision, peripheral vision, and adjust focus.

Due to regulatory requirement by the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid services, a COVID-19 vaccination is required and considered a condition of employment. To be eligible for hire with Mt. Macrina Manor, prospective employees must be fully vaccinated at time of orientation. A person is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after their second dose in a two-shot series, such as the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccines, or two weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as the J&J/Janssen vaccine.
