Rebound is the largest orthopedic and neurosurgical practice in the Portland-Vancouver area with an array of sub-specialties including orthopedics, brain and spine care, sports medicine, physiatry, and physical therapy. We are looking for a full time Registration Resources Lead at our various clinic locations. This role is responsible for entering demographics, insurance and medical history for patients, collecting copays and posting to patient accounts, assisting registration at all locations as needed, and communicating financial policy to patients. All registration positions require cross-training and rotation as department needs arise and change. The successful candidate must have department awareness at all times to facilitate patient flow and have excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving, and decision making skills; Ability to work with a great deal of accuracy and attention to detail; Organizational and office skills, including data entry; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public. Strong attendance history and the ability to work independently is a must.

Responsibilities: :

    • Train new and existing employees and address position knowledge gaps with additional instruction in a supportive manner.
    • Function as a helpful point of contact for staff questions.
    • Assist Director with creating and maintaining training aides, protocols, and insurance face sheets.
    • Lead insurance training for all new hires within one month of hire date
    • Manage insurance and various other logins for Registration team.
    • Provide back-up support to Registration staff.
    • Pre-register patients when possible to assist with daily clinic flow including but not limited to medications, prior medical history and demographics.
    • Greet patient in a friendly and timely manner.
    • Collect patient demographics, insurance information and medical history accurately.
    • Confirm insurance information and pre-verify state and motor vehicle insurance coverage.
    • Act as a point of contact for clinical team for insurance related questions.
    • Explain credit policies, privacy practices and the differences with contracted vs. non-contracted insurance companies.
    • Receipt processing for copays and deposit payments. Maintain cash drawer protocol at all times.
    • Run, update, and maintain registration reports as requested.
    • Be alert and helpful to ensure patients find the appropriate office, exit, etc. and offer directions when needed. Assist patients (i.e. getting the door, wheelchairs, etc.) as needed
    • Alert supervisor and/or administration if suspicious persons are on the premise. Contact security as appropriate.
    • If any office location is underutilized or closed, staff from the closed office may be required to travel to another office to cover.
    • Attend meetings and perform related work as required.
    • Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and abide by all HIPAA rules and regulations.
    • Other duties as assigned.

Required:
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Two years of healthcare front office experience preferred.
    • Knowledge of healthcare insurances, benefits and contracts.
    • Knowledge of medical terminology desirable.
    • Skill in operating a computer, photocopier, fax machine and 10-key,
    • Skill in greeting patients and answering the telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner.
    • Ability to speak clearly and concisely, read, understand, and follow oral and written instruction.
    • Ability to sort and file materials correctly by alphabetic or numeric systems.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public
