Three Rivers Health is seeking a customer-service oriented Registration Specialist to be the “face” of the hospital to our patients. This is a Relief position. The hospital is open 24/7/365 so this means that you will work some weekends and some holidays. There is a shift differential when this happens.
The Registration Specialist:
- Greets and registers patients for their services;
- Educates patients on financial obligations and options for payment
- Reviews physician orders for completeness.
- Verifies insurance coverage and explains coverage.
Here is the list of musts to be a successful Registration Specialist:
- Customer service oriented – you like to help people and smile while doing so.
- Detail oriented – There is a lot of detail involved in the registration process and you have to be accurate.
- Excellent communication skills – including good listening skills
- Able to keep private information completely confidential
What would you set you apart as a candidate:
- Associates Degree in business or medical field.
- Experience working a health care setting and/or related medical business office.
- Proficient in medical terminology, ICD-10 and CPT coding, medical billing and third party payer processes, computerized accounting, and math skills.
- Knowledge of payor, insurance, health care and collection laws.
- Typing 50 wpm.
