Requisition Summary

Release and Applications are two positions that are part of the Production Engineering group. The Applications Technician is responsible for ensuring that every Peterbilt truck order is production-ready. This is accomplished through interactions with Dealers, Customers, and Design Engineering. Release Technicians use PTC Creo to create a 3D model for each order. Bills of Materials are created and orders are maintained throughout the production process. The job applicant and the hiring manager will determine which position (Release or Applications) is most appropriate for the individual. These positions will assemble the 3D model of the truck chassis utilizing PRO-E and select bills of materials needed to build the truck as well as maintaining the chassis image as changes occur. It also insures the truck specification is accurate and buildable per predetermined engineering guidelines.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Analyzes orders for highly specialized and unusual engineering content requirements determining suitability of specifications for intended service.
  • Prepares documentation for engineering release, ensure accurate content.
  • Draws and/or accesses frame layouts using Pro-E.
  • Assists dealers and sales departments in developing required information for quotes and orders.
  • Coordinates information with design, bill of material, materials, production, and field service departments.
  • Maintains and updates applicable files and records.

Skills / Competencies

  • Professional and effective communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.ls
  • Two year technical degree or equivalent experience in heavy equipment machinery or commercial vehicle equipment required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred.
  • PTC Creo experience preferred.
