Corteva Agriscience has an exciting job opportunity for a Research Assistant based in York, Nebraska. The Research Assistant will provide support for program operations by performing a variety of tasks and following protocols to ensure the highest quality data is produced. Responsibilities – What You Will Do:

How will you help us grow? It matters to us, and it matters to you!

  • Support operations, seed preparation, data collection, packet/clam printing and sorting, planting activities, pollination, detasseling, plot maintenance and harvest.
  • Effectively manage assigned field research activities from experiment planning through harvesting.
  • Assist with phytosanitary inspections.
  • Assist with tagging and hand harvest process.
  • Supervise short-term part-time employee crews to complete material movement and processing, hand-harvesting and field activities according to protocols.
  • Assess and improve safety practices to meet safety goals and environmental standards.
  • Help foster a welcoming and inclusive work environment.
  • Work side by side as needed within the processes.
  • Successfully manage resources under changing circumstances.
  • Ensure all operations are completed in a safe manner.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements – Who You Are:

What expertise have you grown? What do you bring to the table?

  • You have your high school diploma/GED.
  • You have a valid US drivers license.
  • You have excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills and are comfortable with conflict management.
  • You pride yourself on accuracy in your work, value timeliness, and are adaptable to change.
  • You are willing and able to work outside in varying conditions; hot/cold, wet/dry, etc.
  • You have strong self-motivation and the ability to initiate projects, make decisions, and effectively solve problems.
  • You have strong computer skills and are willing and able to learn about various research field and data collection equipment.
  • You are willing and able to work a day schedule with overtime hours including weekend work during seasonal peaks as needed.

Preferences – It Would Be Great If You Have:

  • Post-secondary agricultural education and/or experience.
