The Research Associate will direct, coordinate, and administer a variety of community outreach and evaluation/research grants under the direction of the principal investigator.

The Research Associate manages grants administration tasks across several projects funded in the Community and Youth Collaborative Institute (CAYCI). This involves managing grants accountabilities and deliverables, grant writing, budgeting, project management and oversight, and quarterly, bi-annual, and year-end report writing. The Research Associate will manage relationships with funders, partners, volunteers, and other stakeholders to communication, planning, implementation, sustainability, and next steps within CAYCI efforts and projects. The Research Associate will assist the principal investigator (PI), Co-PI, and other lead staff in CAYCI with developing and writing grant applications and contracts to obtain outside funding, as well as participate in training and instruct/supervise graduate students and staff in social work practice and research techniques and processes.
The Research Associate also will have specific responsibilities that focus on facilitating and providing leadership for student-athlete mental health performance agenda at partner school districts. The Research Associate works under the day-to-day direction of the Athletic Director to coordinate, manage, design and implement comprehensive strategies, as well as leverage school, community, Coach Beyond, LiFEsports, and other efforts/initiatives to strengthen outreach, the overall system of support, and various school and community improvement processes. The Research Associate also will connect the work back to broader state-wide OHSAA, OSU LiFEsports, and Coach Beyond efforts, and support integrated efforts and programming within these other entities.
Responsibilities also will include managing day-do-day grant accountabilities related to the Dublin City Schools (DCS) Teacher Cohort by leading ongoing efforts related to project goals. This also involves working with the PI and Co-PI to systematically investigate the formal and informal outcomes resulting from the “Grow Your Own" intervention, exploring barriers, facilitators, resultant process and product innovations, and learning outcomes. The Research Associate also will work with district and community partners, as well as internal OSU faculty/staff, on implementation efforts.
Additionally, the Research Associate will be responsible for managing evaluation and research activities related to CAYCI School Experience Survey and community school administration in different school communities across the country, including supporting their local school improvement processes, preparing formal reports, undertaking other evaluation-related activities, managing students, staff and consultant relationships, and oversee fiscal/accountability networks and grant deliverables. The Research Associate will manage the university-assisted community school research and evaluation project funded through Binghamton University, overseeing day-to-day deliverables, writing grant reports, overseeing research and evaluation priorities, working with funders and partners, and fostering sustainability and infrastructure.
This position will also perform duties as requested by the Principal Investigator. This position is contingent on continuous external funding.
Minimum Education Required
Master's Level Degree with a Major in social work or social sciences and 4-5 years of relevant experience required.
Required Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates with substantive experience in Social Work or another education-related area (examples are: Education, Child & Family Studies, Counseling, Agriculture, Extension, Family Relations, and Human Development, Psychology, etc.). Considerable knowledge of education, youth development, and health and human services administration and practice is required. Considerable experience in community outreach, project coordination, linkage and referral, team leadership, program planning, and administration is required.
