Job Class: Non-exempt/Hourly $22-33 DOE

Reports to: Dr. Jose Garcia

Summary:

The Research Coordinator will be working in a collaborative and diverse environment with the Garcia Research group. The candidate will play a central role in the performance of multicenter research studies and will aid in research development, data collection, and other activities to carry out the program goals. This is a full-time position (40 hours per week).

Responsibilities:

Conduct patient screenings and research testing as outlined in protocols primarily at the Puget Sound HCS and other affiliated institutions (American lake VA, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, Valley Medical Center, UW Medical Center among others).
Keep accurate report of research data
Blood drawing, hormonal testing, sample handling and processing
Muscle function assessment
Maintain regulatory/compliance paperwork
Other duties as specified in IRB-approved protocols


Position Requirements:

  • Four years of college-level course work in relevant academic areas and previous Research Assistant/Coordinator experience.
    • Nursing background (i.e.; LPN) is highly desirable
  • Attention to detail
  • Great organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Works well with a team and independently
  • Motivated to be involved in research activities
  • Able to travel within the Seattle area – must have proof of valid driver license and insurance

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office package (especially Outlook, Excel, and Word)
  • Prior volunteer/work experience in clinical research is preferred
