Job description
Culmen International is looking for a highly motivated mid-level Cybersecurity Researcher to support a U.S. Federal customer by providing technical expertise and solutions for cutting-edge programs and projects. The candidate will advise government and contractor personnel in the Cybersecurity technology area. The ideal candidate will perform cybersecurity landscape analysis, threat and risk assessments, current state-of-the-art and the art-of-the-possible evaluations in cybersecurity research focus areas such as Software Assurance; Internet of Things; Distributed Denial of Service; Open Source Software; Federal Govt physical & Cybersecurity; Voice Security for Telephony Systems; Malware Analysis; Network Security; Network Measurement Security; Cloud Security; Vulnerability Disclosure Programs; Ransomware; and Knowledge of Encryption Methods.
- Bachelor’s + 15 years of experience or Master’s + 10 years of experience with a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Computation Mathematics, or related fields (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of Open Source Software (i.e., standards, resources, and cybersecurity vulnerabilities); Federal Government Physical & Cybersecurity process, policy, and requirements; and cybersecurity standards and best practices (i.e., ISO 27001, NIST).
- Technical expertise in three or (more) of the following focus areas: Software Assurance; Internet of Things; Distributed Denial of Service; Voice Security for Telephony Systems; Malware Analysis; Network Security; Network Measurement Security; Cloud Security; Vulnerability Disclosure Programs; Ransomware; Knowledge of encryption methods.
- Strong analytic abilities and meticulous.
- Independent thinker capable of working proficiently independently as well as within a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex security concepts to stakeholders at all levels of DHS organization and enterprise.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams, drive security initiatives forward, and willingness and ability to contribute at a technical level.
- Primary remote work with possible travel to conferences and meetings and DC HQ. Location negotiable, but prefer the DC region.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $140,000.00 - $155,000.00 per year
