Reservoir Geophysics Advisor
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: :
This position requires the candidate have a proven record and substantial research and development (R&D) experience in seismic inversion and reservoir characterization associated technology development. The successful candidate will also be responsible for creatively applying petrophysics and geophysics technologies, interpretation skills, and workflows to reservoir characterization and development planning. The candidate must be capable of working alone and in a team to deliver timely and reliable solutions and projects for the geophysical reservoir problems. Programming experience is required.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for creatively applying petrophysics and geophysics technologies, interpretation skills, and workflows to reservoir characterization and development planning. The candidate must be capable of working alone and in a team to deliver timely and reliable solutions and projects for the geophysical reservoir problems. Programming experience is required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Fully understanding of seismic inversion, reservoir characterization technologies and hand-on experience in seismic data conditioning, creating synthetics, utilizing seismic attributes, modeling, and inversion as part of the reservoir characterization process.
- Conduct specialized studies and develop in-house numerical analysis and processing tools for reservoir study using programming languages suited for scientific computing.
- Lead and carry out studies and apply research leading to characterization technologies with a focus on seismic inversion and wave equation numerical modeling to solve business-relevant reservoir problems.
- Utilize existing proprietary and commercial software to design and develop deployable workflows for reservoir characterization.
- Mentor and train colleagues, applying solid knowledge of geophysical disciplines to various projects.
- Deliver timely and reliable solutions and projects in alignment with management.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: :
- Expert knowledge in seismic data conditioning and interpretation for AVO analysis, seismic inversion, and Petrophysics analysis.
- Experience in interpreting and integrating geophysical, petrophysical, and rock physics data using Hampson-Russell or other equivalent software.
- Skills using programming languages suited for scientific computing C/C++/Python/Fortran/Matlab. CUDA knowledge is optional but not necessary.
- Familiar with Linux and high-performance computing systems.
- Ability to present technical topics to peers and management.
- Strong ability to meet deadlines and manage time efficiently while multi-tasking.
- Effective communication, problem-solving and teamwork skills.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, CREDENTIALS, LICENSES AND EXPERIENCE: :
- Must have a Master’s Degree or Doctorate Degree (from an accredited university) in geology, geophysics, petrophysics, mathematics, physics or other geophysics related discipline.
- Must have 5+ years of Oil & Gas industry related R & D work experience.
- Some domestic and international travel will be required<10% per year.
- Must have current U.S. work authorization.
- No relocation provided.
