Residential Equipment Operator

Job Description:

Apex Excavating is a family-owned business located in Park City, KS which specializes in commercial, residential, and utility projects working primarily in Sedgwick County area. As a residential equipment operator, you will mainly be operating heavy equipment primarily for digging basements, underground pools, and dirt removal at residential developments and neighborhoods.

General responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Ability to operate various pieces of heavy equipment including excavators, loaders, graders, backhoes, etc.
• Primarily work with residential developments and neighborhoods digging basements, pools, dirt removal, etc.
• Must be able to excavate around objects in an effective and safe manner
• Perform daily pre-start up procedures such as check fluid levels, equipment checklist, service due dates, and cleaning equipment
• Must be able to work independently and a self-starter
• Ability to follow directions and is teachable

Requirements:

• 0-3 years of experience as a heavy equipment operator
• CDL class A is preferred, but not required; however, may be required to obtain CDL once employed
• Ability to work long hours when required
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug/ alcohol screening, physical, background check, and clean MVR (If candidate has a CDL, they must have a valid and updated DOT medical card)

*Wage will be based upon equipment operating experience and past job history*

• Park City, KS: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
