Job description
Under limited supervision, employee manages the daily operations of residential services provided to persons with intellectual disabilities. Work involves planning and coordinating the provision of services through a team of direct support professionals; managing and allocating the resources of the assigned service programs; and monitoring the progress of individuals; their documentation prepared by staff; and the development and implementation of their Person Centered support plans. Incumbent ensures program services comply with local, state, and federal guidelines. Reviews and approves documentation. Employee must exercise tact and courtesy in contact with staff, individuals, families, and service providers.

Coordinates and supervises the direct support programs provided to individuals. Ensures program activities comply with local, state, and federal licensure and program requirements.

Oversees the development of assigned Person-Centered Plans. Reviews plans; ensures that planned activities contribute to meeting plan Outcomes and Supports. Provides direction to staff in the development and coordination of activity schedules as needed.

Supervises a team of direct support professionals who plan and implement the daily activities of the plans. Assigns and reviews work; evaluates staff performance; completes performance enhancement plans and/or disciplinary action on assigned staff; schedules staff coverage in accordance with program staffing needs; compiles and approves payroll time sheets. Prepares agenda and leads staff meetings. Documents all supervision and training activities according to all internal and external policies. Provides adequate training for staff development and participates in staff development training.

Allocates program resources including staff to meet program needs. Monitors and manages assigned petty cash account. Oversees individual accounts for the assigned site. Submits supply needs to supervisor for processing. Provides reports on facility and vehicle maintenance needs, condition, and repair needs.

Initiates and submits monthly billing information according to established schedules, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations governing reimbursement/payment.

Monitors each individual’s progress; identifies needed modifications to existing plans and outcomes; ensures implementation of team recommendations. Initiates quarterly review of individual’s progress.

Maintains program records and documentation in accordance with internal and external policies. Coordinates medical appointments and connects program participants with community resources.

Follows policies and procedures during medical, behavioral, and environmental emergencies.

Serves as a liaison between direct care staff and the Community Options Division Management Team.

Desired: . Associate's Degree in Human Services, Social Services, Psychology, or related field, and 1 or 2 years experience in direct care to someone with a developmental disability with supervisory experience; or a minimum of 3 years training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must have knowledge of Plans of Care to meet Medicaid regulations; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Must possess skills with personal computers.

Must possess a valid Virginia Driver's License and driving record acceptable to agency insurance carrier. Must possess CPR and First Aid Certification. Must possess Medication Management and Medicaid Waiver Certifications.
