Cafe Boku in Ojai is hiring for a cafe manager! This person will manage all aspects of the cafe and report directly to Boku Superfoods CEO.
Cafe Boku Concept- Charge your car, charge your body. A plant-based cafe that offers bites & beverages infused with our organic superfood blends. Our menu is allergen-friendly & offers grain-free options for every meal. We pride ourselves in always using organic and local ingredients whenever possible.
The proper candidate will have experience managing and excellent organizational & communication skills. A love for health & wellness and an interest in superfoods is a must.

General
- Assist in overseeing and managing all areas of the cafe and making the necessary decisions to ensure the delivery of an excellent experience for our guests. Ensure there is a safe and productive work environment for staff members.
Food safety and planning
- Enforce sanitary practices for food handling, general cleanliness, and maintenance of kitchen and dining areas.
- Ensure compliance with operational standards, company policies, federal/state/local laws, and ordinances.
- Responsible for ensuring consistent high-quality food preparation and service.
- Maintain professional restaurant image, including restaurant cleanliness, proper attire, and appearance standards.
Guest Service
- Ensure positive guest service in all areas. Respond to complaints and suggestions, taking any and all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guests into return guests.
Operational responsibilities
- Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents. Completes accident reports promptly in the event that a guest or staff member is injured.
- Proficient in the following dimensions of restaurant functions: food planning and preparation, purchasing, sanitation, security, company policies and procedures, personnel management, recordkeeping, and preparation of reports.
- Use softwares such as Toast, Xtra Chef and Google Sheets.
- Proper inventory, ordering and receiving of all goods and supplies used in cafe.
- Accomplishing financial objectives including sales growth, cost management, profit growth, cost control and quality control.
Personnel
- Conducting strong interviews and attracting high quality candidates
- Ongoing developing & coaching the team to their full potential by providing feedback, establishing performance expectations and by conducting regular performance reviews.
- Maintain an accurate and up-to-date plan of restaurant staffing needs and create schedules accordingly.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma required
- 2+ years of previous work experience in a quick-service restaurant
- Speak, read, and write English fluently
- Experience managing in the food service industry
- Proficient in the following restaurant functions: food planning and preparation, purchasing, sanitation, and restaurant safety
- Possess basic math skills can operate a cash register and POS system
- Passionate about food and hospitality
- Friendly, upbeat, and cooperative
- Able to complete tasks on or before set deadline.
- Able to work well with others and set an exemplary example of leadership and respectful communication.
- Must pass Serv Safe Food Handler Management course and test
Physical Requirements
- Perform duties that require standing, walking, reaching, bending, stooping, wiping, twisting, climbing, and lifting/carrying (up to 25 lbs. individually).
Work Conditions/Hours
- Hours will vary in accordance with business necessity, including early morning, late evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
- Works with equipment typical of a restaurant kitchen as well as work with phones, computers, and other office equipment.

Pay: $26.00 - $33.00 per hour
