- You will assume responsibility for direction and coordination of all functions during the designated shift.
- You will function as a resource person for staff member and assists in necessary education of individual members of the nursing staff.
- You will assume responsibility for the overall quality of nursing care provided when you are on duty
- You will make decisions regarding activities with these areas based on Administrative Operational Standards, Nursing Administrative Standards, Human Resource Standards, and Standards of Care for the unit, in collaboration with other members of the management team.
- Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate Registered Nurse license.
- Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) Required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- CPI within two months of hire.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Activity in professional organizations encouraged.
- Minimum two years of experience as an RN required.
- Previous experience in charge/supervisory position desirable.
- Education, experience or certification specific to clinical area recommended. (Adult, Senior Adult, Adolescent or Women's area)
Electroconvulsive Therapy Nurse (ECT)
An ECT nurse is a nurse with specialty training in Electroconvulsive Therapy Nurse (ECT)
ECT is a procedure using a small amount of electrical stimulation applied to the scalp or temples that induces a seizure in the brain. The patient receives treatment while under general anesthesia. The ECT team is composed of a multi-disciplinary treatment team including a psychiatrist, anesthesiologist, and ECT nurses. The nurses supervise and deliver quality general and psychiatric nursing care to all patients receiving ECT. ECT nurses carry out specific tasks before, during and after the procedure following protocols.
- The applicant for the position will be performing duties primarily as a recovery room nurse with complete pre-treatment documentation; ensure the patient meets the basic criteria for treatment (NPO status, medication and allergy review and recent medical history).
- Prep the patient for treatment, to include starting the IV, or accessing the port or PICC; also responsible for initiating time out plus transitioning the patient to the anesthesia team prior to treatment.
- Post-ECT treatment plan includes responsibilities for recovery. This includes airway, cardiovascular, medication and IV management; and de-escalating agitated patients post treatment until resolved. Once patient is recovered and meets discharge criteria, the RN assists the patient to the inpatient unit or to the responsible party for transport home.
- RN must be ACLS qualified.
