A rare and exciting opportunity has recently opened for an RN Nursing Director to oversee Case Management and Utilization Review at this esteemed medical center in the Palm Desert Area.

Guiding this busy and critically important Resource & Utilization Review department with an experienced hand, the RN Case Management Director will use intuition and independent judgement built over a career of steering operations for inpatient case management departments. You’ll get to deploy all the tools at your disposal to direct and actively manage the operations of a department that touches each and every service that this 300+ bed hospital offers.

Reporting to the Chief Nursing Officer, you’ll take the central role in leading an experienced and tenured team of Case Managers, Licensed Social Workers, and support staff in both the daily operations and strategic direction of the Utilization Review and Resource Management Department. This means that the Nursing Director of Utilization & Resource Management will be the driving force behind moving patients through the continuum of care, behind developing dependable financial analyses and patient ‘snapshots’ for senior leadership, and ensuring processes and potential improvements are documented.

An in-depth understanding of how clinical systems interact, where snags and hold-ups occur, and how to facilitate proper patient care are at the center of this role. The RN Director of Case, Utilization, and Resource Management will discover an environment of compassion, collaboration, and communication from the staff and physicians. You’ll have the opportunity to play a vital role in keeping the lines of communication open, ensuring the highest quality of patient care is delivered in the most efficient way.
