Overview of Responsibilities:
  • Effectively oversees the overall workflow of the clinical staff.
  • Responsible and accountable for the changing clinical needs of the office. Coordinate the clinical staff thru assigning/delegating tasks as needed throughout the day.
  • Primary point of communication between providers and the rest of the clinical staff.
  • Facilitates staff development and empowerment
    • Acts as resource and support for staff in developing and demonstrating relationship, delegation and communication competencies
    • Mentors staff through performance feedback process
    • Serves as resource for developing self-directed behaviors
    • Promotes the clinical growth and development of licensed and non-licensed staff to assure that essential competencies are in place to meet the customers’ needs
    • Acts as a role model for professional nursing practice
    • Role models and mentors preceptors
    • Ability to translate concepts into tangible/definable actions and outcomes; communicates practice information in ways understood by staff
  • Demonstrated competency in taking patient vitals, injection/immunization procedures, charting and documentation, exam room preparation, infectious waste handling, sterile techniques and routine lab procedures and collection.
  • Verbal communication skills that build a strong patient rapport, accuracy with discussing orders with patients, patient's family and pharmacies.
  • Written communication skills that are clear, concise and accurate regarding charting and documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability in handling patient confidentiality.
  • Ability to work with peers in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
  • Competent to perform IV access and maintain line for use.
  • Prepares exam rooms for patient use by cleaning the rooms between patients and ensuring that each room is stocked with the appropriate supplies. Prepares procedure trays as necessary.
  • Escorts patient to exam room and takes vital signs as needed. Interviews patient to assess needs. Records reason for visit and documents current medications.
  • Explains to patient what to expect during provider’s examination using ADET.
  • Completes routine forms as appropriate (school physical, immunization records, etc.).
  • Administers EKGs and assists provider(s) with patient procedures. Administers/performs injections, immunizations, , and
  • For "nursing visits" records diagnoses and completes fee sheet by recording type of visit and procedures performed.
  • Performs lab tests in accordance with needs of patient and as directed by the Provider/Practice Manager and/or Lab Director. Prepares specimens for physician viewing, operates and calibrates laboratory equipment.
  • Prepares specimens to be analyzed by an outside lab by packaging specimen appropriately, completing requisition form and contacting testing facility as necessary. Tracks all labs sent off-site.
  • Submits lab results to provider before contacting patient and filing patient's chart.
  • Schedules offsite diagnostic tests by providing the patient with appropriate preparation instructions and making the appointment by phoning the testing site. Records procedures ordered and tracks results.
  • Facilitates referrals to other providers by phoning their offices, making an appointment for the patient, and forwarding requested test results, etc. Records and tracks all referrals.
  • Contacts Hospital and outside sources regarding lab results, x-ray results and ER reports.
  • Phones pharmacies to authorize prescriptions
  • Contacts nursing homes regarding patient orders.
  • Contacts patients to relay test result information; and returns patients phone calls with the physician's recommendations for their care.
  • Pre-certifies hospital admissions and referrals by contacting the appropriate insurance professionals and providing them with the requested information. Records precertification number in chart. Records and tracks all referrals.
  • Takes manual inventory of drugs. Checks expiration dates and orders replenishments as needed.
  • Orders supplies for back office as needed.
  • Disinfects exam rooms and lab and straightens reception area daily. Disinfects toys weekly.
  • Performs front office duties and other duties as required.
  • Performs all duties respectful of confidentiality and safety of all patients, employees, and physicians.
  • Completes all Workman’s Compensation insurance forms..
  • Interact appropriately and deal effectively with patients and employees of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds
  • Provide support for the delivery of patient care with the ability to identify clinical improvement opportunities and lead team towards improvement.
  • Shows a commitment to personal professional growth through the pursuit of advanced knowledge and skills
  • Supports team in meeting the customer satisfaction targets established by RHPA.
  • Implements service recovery initiatives promptly with all customer groups.
  • Assures that all customer service strategies in practice environment are implemented.
  • Works in collaboration with the physicians and the other providers to develop and deliver patient care of the highest standard by all within the practice(s).
  • Committed to the use of the KSB’s.

Education/Experience:
Required Experience: Previous experience in medical office or health care setting preferred.
Required Education: Degree from an accredited nursing program.
Required License: Current and valid Ohio RN license.
Schedule Details: Day shift. 40 hours weekly. 9:00-5:30p. What We Offer:
