About the Nurse Manager’s Role

Roswell Center for Foot & Ankle Surgery is seeking an energetic, compassionate, and driven Nurse Manager who will oversee the management of the Ambulatory Surgical Center environment delivering complex health services in the surgical setting. The nurse manager position will work daily in either the operating room or pre-op/PACU. In addition, this person will be in a leadership role at the center in terms of planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating the activities for the business operations of the facility in partnership with physician leadership and the corporate team.

Nurse Manager’s Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversees nursing care given to all patients within the surgery center, according to age related nursing principles.
  • Utilizes appropriate pain management techniques. Educates the staff, patient, and family regarding pain management.
  • Oversees all supply inventory, drugs and implants required for all surgical cases and establish par levels for all.
  • Oversees cleaning of the OR suite and equipment to ensure cleanliness, sterility, and operational of all items.
  • Responsible for safety measures to prevent accidents, harm, or injury of patients, staff, and / or equipment.
  • Controls traffic to the Operating Room suites to prevent or avoid infection.
  • Verifies narcotics and controlled substances are counted and maintained in a locked cabinet, according to CMS requirements.
  • Accurately and concisely documents patient feedback and special needs to our staff and physicians to provide excellent care during each surgery.
  • Ensures all medical staff follows the five medication rights and reduces the potential for medication errors.
  • Schedules appropriate staff to provide coverage of all surgical cases and delegates duties and responsibilities to staff to perform surgical cases in the most effective and efficient manner.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for daily operations in partnership with physician leadership, based on CMS, State, OSHA, accreditation organization and national recognized agencies.
  • Oversees and provides direction of the Quality Assurance Performance Improvements for the surgery center which include the following: Policy & Procedures, Infection Control, Chart documentation, Risk Managements, Emergency Preparedness, Credentialing for Staff, and Physicians. Delegates responsibilities for the above-mentioned tasks to appropriate center personnel.
  • Prepares, conducts all meeting for the surgery center on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. Keeping documented account of all meetings for the surgery center.
  • Oversee the activities of recruiting, selection, counseling of personnel, and performs annual staff performance reviews.
  • Able to handle problem situation in a professional and timely manner.


Nurse Manager Qualifications

  • Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia with a BSN
  • Current ACLS & BLS Certificates
  • Covid 19 Vaccination Record
  • Management experience 3 year or greater
  • Prior history of working in Ambulatory Surgery center a plus
  • Must be an effective communicator with excellent grammar and interpersonal skills

Compensation

Compensation is commensurate to compensation for similar positions in the region and based on prior training and experience.
