JOB SUMMARY:

Perform duties pertaining to the protection of lives and property, enforcement of criminal and traffic laws, prevention of crime, preservation of public peace, and the apprehension of criminals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Investigate 911 complaints along with follow-up investigation
• Enforcement of State and Local law
• Traffic enforcement
• Investigate traffic crashes and perform traffic safety
• Security and property checks
• General patrol vehicle maintenance
• Prison transports
• General citizen assistance
• Referrals to and from Social Services
• Court appearances/testifying
• Court security/bailiff duties
• Civil and criminal process
• Liquor control compliance checks
• Mental health orders
• Petitions
• Transports
• Medical first responder
• Field training officer
• Any other tasks assigned by the Sheriff

Education/Experience

Certification/Licenses Required

• Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) certifiable or certified
