We have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Robotic Welding Programmer & Setup candidate to join our team of professionals and assist in the production of necessary equipment for our products. Primary Duties

  • Assists Fabrication Supervisor and Fabrication Lead in individual robot work cells, including setup of fixtures, programming, and maintaining safe operations and quality welding and cutting processes.
  • Focus on production requirements based on customer specifications, with important emphasis on safety, quality, cost control, delivery, and communication..
  • Perform welding and fabrication of materials and perform general equipment maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain existing programs and verify correct robot function to achieve safe operation and highest possible quality and weld integrity.
  • Create new robot programs, organize library of programs, and assure operators are trained in the setup and use of programs.
  • Recognize good versus bad welds, assuring welded assemblies meet or exceed drawing requirements.
  • Prepare metals and work surfaces to ensure safe and effective assemblage.
  • Train new welders and mentoring team with respect to robot, welding, and torch operation.
  • Prepare, inspect, clean, diagnose and repair welders, robots, plasma cutters and related equipment and materials.
  • Perform daily regular maintenance on robots, welders, and plasma cutters.
  • Diagnose issues and troubleshoot as required.
  • Liaising with the line Fabrication Supervisor, Fabrication Lead, and Maintenance Personnel reporting any issues, and making suggestions for improvement.
  • Ability to operate maintenance tools and equipment.
  • Ensure Health & Safety is the number one goal by having the ability to work in a constant state of alertness, following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times and ensures safety precautions are observed by all fabrication facility employees.
  • Use judgement in selecting the repair methods, equipment and materials used to accomplish assignments.
  • Operate forklift equipment to perform all general equipment repair and installation.
  • Perform assigned work in compliance with all safe work procedures, guidelines, practices, permits and air monitoring requirements.
  • Ensure safeguards for equipment and PPE while performing welding operations.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Operate tools and equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination
  • Autonomous/Independent -- enjoys working with little direction
  • Experience with metal
  • Ability to transport, move, and lift objects weighing up to 75 pounds
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with the team and supervisor(s)
  • Knowledge of standard practices, methods, materials, tools, equipment, hazards, and safety precautions of the welding trade
  • Knowledge and skill in use of computers and assorted software programs
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Ability to apply basic math principles including fractions and basic geometry.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with those contacted in the course of work
  • Ability to maintain consistent, punctual and regular attendance
  • Minimum 5 years welding and fabricating experience required. At least 2 years lead/supervisory experience required.
  • Trade school certification or advanced degree from an accredited institution in welding preferred but not required

Schedule:

  • 1st Shift - Monday - Friday: 6:00am - 2:00pm
  • 2nd Shift - Monday - Friday: 2:00pm - 10:00pm

Overtime required as need and on occasion MANDATORY, including weekends.
