Summary:
Green Mountain Energy, a nationally recognized leader in renewable energy, is looking for a highly motivated Rooftop Solar Consultant to help Texans go solar. Green Mountain is uniquely positioned to offer a comprehensive rooftop solar solution including one of the only remaining 1:1 unlimited uncapped excess-energy buyback plans in Texas, multiple battery and storage options, and programs that tie EVs and solar together.
As the primary point of contact for Green Mountain customers and prospects interested in going solar, the Rooftop Solar Consultant's first responsibility will be to effectively communicate Green Mountain’s mission and commitment to renewable energy and award-winning customer satisfaction. Next, qualifying customers based on interests, circumstances, and objectives to advise them on which of Green Mountain’s various solar installation options best meet their needs.
Effectively consulting consumers on solar requires a skill set that covers the technical aspects of solar, the ability to establish relationships with prospects, and a passion to further the adoption of renewable energy so we are looking for an individual with a unique combination of skills. Ideally, someone who is experienced in all aspects of the solar sales process (sales, equipment/installation, and design).
This individual needs to be passionate about providing the best solution for what customers want, be analytical, organized, and structured to serve customers as efficiently and effectively as possible, and fiercely driven to see long-lead-time sales cycles through from lead acquisition to final installation.
Responsibilities:
Professionally represent Green Mountain Energy and clearly convey our 20+ year history in renewable energy, 15 years of experience in solar development and innovation in Texas, and best-in-the-market solar offering (including exclusive access to 1:1 unlimited uncapped net metering for your customers), and never-ending commitment to quality and customer experience.
Qualify and manage inbound solar leads.
Identify and position the appropriate solar energy solution, based on information provided by the customer.
Present and sell rooftop solar systems over the phone utilizing leading-edge solar system design and proposal tools.
Achieve and maintain sales and customer experience goals.
Respond to questions from or attend scheduled meetings with prospects.
Provide general customer support towards getting a customer to sign a contract for solar panel installation.
Provide support on requested tasks, organize tasks, communicate and proactively report performance and develop next steps.
Other duties as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications:
1-year of sales experience in any field
High School Diploma or GED equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
Proficiency in MS Office applications (specifically Outlook) with professional-level written communication skills.
Familiarity/experience using a Salesforce CRM system.
Preferred Qualifications (Not required):
- Preferred sales experience with solar, including a demonstrable record of consistently achieving or exceeding goals/metrics.

Excellent oral and written communication skills – ability to communicate ideas clearly and professionally both verbally as well as in email.
