Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton Rockport is looking for Housekeeping Room Attendants that will assist in ensuring a positive overall impression of the property as well as providing the necessary safeguarding service of cleanliness and comfortable guest rooms. The impression created by the Housekeeping Room Attendant is crucial to the reputation and success of the Hotel. Therefore, it is essential that Housekeeping Room Attendants be highly thorough and professional in completing their duties.

The Room Attendant will be responsible for the daily ownership and operational execution of the Housekeeping Department. Room attendants must be comfortable communicating with guests they encounter, as well as the Housekeeping staff to efficiently service guest rooms. Teamwork among all housekeeping staff, as well as the ability to perform the daily tasks required for the position, form the foundation on which each individual is able to develop and succeed within the department. By performing a combination of housekeeping tasks, we contribute in providing a pleasant and positive guest experience.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Clean and reset guest bedroom and bathroom areas according to established standards as follows:
  • Sort, count, fold and carry linen
  • Make beds
  • Replenish supplies, i.e., amenities, drinking glasses, clean linen
  • Lift and move furniture weighing no more than 20 lbs
  • Sweep, scrub bathroom floor using broom and mops
  • Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture using vacuum cleaner and or proper chemicals
  • Dust furniture, equipment and fixtures
  • Wash tile walls, tub, sink and toilets
  • Polish woodwork and metal work such as fixtures and metal fittings
  • Clean windows, door panels and sills
  • Empty wastebaskets
  • Replenish bathroom supplies

ยท Perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products to adhere to health standards.

  • Perform other duties as requested, such as cleaning unexpected spills and executing special guest requests.
  • Assist other housekeeping staff in maintaining clean and organized work area.
  • All other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for long lengths of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
  • Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks.
  • Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach different floors of the hotel on a timely basis.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
  • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other staff.
  • Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
  • Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
  • Ability to work primarily with fingers to pick, pinch, type and carry out substantial movements (motions) of the wrists and hands as well.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must be detail oriented with outstanding organizational and communication skills.

ATTENDANCE

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Intrepid Hotels, from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Staff with irregular attendance / tardiness will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. Upon employment, all staff is required to fully comply with Intrepid Hotels rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotels facilities. Staff members who violate hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required. Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $10.00 - $12.00 per hour
