Department: Rooms Supervisor: Housekeeper Supervisor
Type of Position: •Full Time •Part Time • Exempt •Nonexempt

SUMMARY AND PURPOSE
Respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments. Identify and report preventative or other maintenance issues in public areas or guest rooms. Performs any combination of the following tasks to maintain guestrooms, working areas, and the hotel premises in general in a clean and orderly manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Cleans rugs, carpets and upholstered furniture using a vacuum cleaner and other needed equipment
Job requires company-approved attire with identification badge in sight.
Cleans rooms, hallways, and restrooms.
Washes walls and moves furniture’s and turn mattress.
Sweeps, mops, scrubs, waxes and polishes floor.
Dusts and polishes metalwork.
Collects soiled linen for laundering.
Clean the entire guestroom per the hotels policies and procedures
Maintains housekeeping carts.
Removes trash
Walk all assigned floors at beginning and end of shift to collect newspaper bags, newspapers, trash, and soiled linen.
Pickup clean linen and refill the par stock of linen on each floor’s housekeeping closet or storeroom.
Deliver towels, cribs, cots and other items to the guest rooms on requests.
Refill the par stock of guest amenities in each guest room and on each floor’s housekeeping closet or storeroom.
Clean all public areas in the prescribed manner while following department standard operating procedures if assigned to this area.
Remove soiled linen and trash from the pool side and other service area and take to appropriate locations in the prescribed manner.
Report missing / found articles, damage, or merchandise problems to the housekeeping supervisors.
Respond in a friendly, helpful manner to guests and peers.
Take up any tasks assigned by the supervisors as and when needed.
Report to work in required uniform and in adherence with the Dress Code Policy.
Must be able to work independently and as a team player
Must be customer service oriented and genuinely support and promote good guest service.
The employee shall perform his/her duties using standard levels of productivity and dependability, ensuring completion in a timely and zero-defect manner.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Previous housekeeping experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
The employee must have the ability to work independently, a willingness to learn, and good communication skills.
Must be willing to participate fully in staff meetings and designated training programs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The Housekeeper position requires the following physical and mental capabilities to be performed:
Constantly (66% to 100% of the time)
Being on foot, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders, pushing or pulling, reaching above shoulder height, grasping, gripping, turning, lifting and carrying 1-25 lb. items, performing general and detail observation, working at above ground height, using finger dexterity, properly operating equipment or tools, following instructions, reading and/or comprehending manufacturer's and product label directions, interpreting a variety of written and/or oral instructions, communicating effectively with other staff members, working indoors, and using adequate vision and mobility.
Frequently (33% to 66% of the time)
Writing to complete reports and service requests, observing things clearly beyond an arm's reach, lifting and carrying of items weighing 25-75lbs.
Occasionally (1% to 33% of the time)
Lifting and carrying (with assistance) items weighing 75-150 lbs.
Regular attendance is mandatory and must follow all work safety programs.
