Safe Harbor currently consists of four homes – Safe Harbor House (focusing on trauma treatment), The Lighthouse (focused on transition and support), and two Alumni Homes (for women and their families who have completed the 1-year program and would like to stay connected to the community through independent living and support). We desire to provide a safe place for women who find themselves at the intersection of substance abuse and various kinds of trauma, including: Physical, emotional, or sexual abuse Domestic Violence Prostitution/Trafficking Homelessness The complexity of the issues facing the women at Safe Harbor necessitates an approach that deals with these challenges from every possible angle



Member Duties : This VISTA will develop a volunteer recruitment and retention program, engage in community education and public relations, and help to develop resources for the organization through stakeholder relations, grant writing, and social enterprise. The individual best suited to accomplish these tasks will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, will work effectively independently as well as with others, and with provided training and support, will be able to manage multiple projects concurrently.
