Summary

The Safety Manager – Education & Development will provide leadership for our corporate safety training material, starting with enhancing existing training material and generating new material. This position reports to the EH&S Director, is based out of our corporate Knoxville, TN, office, and does not have any direct reports. The expected work schedule is Monday through Friday with availability on weekends when needed.

Primary Responsibilities

• Reviews and revises existing training material to align with our Corporate EH&S Program Manual
• Researches, develops, and writes content for the EH&S Program Manual, training material, and supporting materials related to safety.
• Creates, publishes, and maintains all training related material.
• Develops course curriculum with assistance from Safety Professionals and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
• Prepares and manages ad-hoc training requests.
• Review site-specific trainings and provide recommendations.
• Conducts formal safety training to select Senior Leadership.
• Serves as the Safety Education Management system owner.
• Assists the Corporate Safety Team in the creation, development, and implementation of various safety campaigns/initiatives throughout the year.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education/Credentials

• Bachelor s degree in Safety Management or similar related field is required
• CSP, or equivalent, safety certification highly preferred

Requirements

• Minimum of five years of learning and development experience, preferably within the construction safety industry
• Previous construction safety field experience
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management/prioritization skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with all levels within the organization, including Senior Leadership
• Ability to successfully balance multiple projects, at various stages, with limited Supervision in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently and through others
• Strong Microsoft PowerPoint skills
