Peabody Essex Museum is seeking part-time Sales Associates for our Museum Shop. Reporting to the Store Manager, this role is ideal for individuals with customer service skills and the ability to engage with the public in a Museum Shop sales environment.The shop is often the last point of contact for our visitors so we are seeking confident individuals who have strong interpersonal skills and can interact with our guests in a positive way. An interest in art and culture is helpful to the success in this role.
General duties include point-of-sale checkout procedures, inventory replenishment, maintaining visual displays, direct sales, cash handling and other duties as needed.
Experience in the retail or service industry is a plus. Must have a flexible schedule and be available to work at least one weekend shift and Monday holidays. Positions are approximately 19 hours per week. A strong sense of fashion and personal style are a plus. Standing for extended periods and the ability to lift 30 lbs. are also required.
