Sales Executive – Broker Sales

Job purpose:
The Medicare Sales Executive - Broker Sales is charged with promoting the sales of Medicare products, Medicare Advantage and Medigap, among insurance brokers within a specified territory. The core functions of this role involve: prospecting for additional brokers, onboarding new brokers, facilitating training sessions about product and sales tools, inspiring brokers about our value proposition, and executing strategic approach to various micro-markets within the territory.

The Sales Executive – Broker Sales would typically have a Bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field and 1-3 years experience and demonstrated success in a commission-sales environment, preferably in a related industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be currently licensed, or become licensed within 90 days of hire, to sell insurance (health, life, and/or disability) in the state or states where business is conducted. Prior to receiving a license, staff are not allowed to engage in soliciting or selling activities. Must hold a valid Life and Health Insurance license. Must also hold a valid state driver’s license.
Responsibilities:

Primary responsibility is to establish and maintain relationships with the brokerage community that supports productive sales of Regence Medicare products and services to meet personal sales targets.

Prepares sales presentations, contracts, and proposals subject to review by sales management. May participate in special projects/programs as assigned, such as training or communication sessions within or outside of the company.

Supports brokers throughout the sales process in all sales-oriented activities, including marketing, advertising, sales promotions, and training to achieve revenue targets.

Manage broker relationships within the assigned territory including managing events, appointments, bonus payments, coop marketing funds, and promotional activities as provided by RBS policies and procedures to achieve appropriate levels of visibility for Regence Medicare efforts.

Provides active support of the Regence Medicare goals, sales and marketing relationships and support of sales at each functional interface to the brokerage community.

Promotes and provides training for the brokerage community within the assigned territory on Regence Medicare products and services, procedures and policies, including CME accreditation as appropriate. Help troubleshoot specific customer issues.

Manage the implementation of the Agent Strategy. Develop negotiation strategies and tactics with agents/brokers to achieve budgeted enrollment targets. Look for and creates opportunities for mutual benefits. Track agent production results and motivate increased production using best practices based on goals as determined in Business Plan. Maintain positive relationships with agents and utilize agents for market intelligence.

Ability to deliver negative and positive news in a fashion that allows for building and improving business relationships

Monitors the external broker environment for competitor best practices and advises agents/brokers on how to position the plan’s products against competitors.
Key Qualifications and Experience:

Experience working with Field Marketing Organizations (FMOs) is preferred but not required.

Thorough knowledge of sales techniques and insurance laws/rules, including CMS Medicare rules/practices. Understanding of Medicare products.

Detailed understanding of product complexities with the ability to communicate and negotiate with various parties.

Proven ability to build and maintain strong business and community relationships.

Proven success remaining organized and prioritizing work to meet established deadlines.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and ability to successfully navigate mobile applications and Salesforce.

High level of self-motivation with the ability to motivate others including agents/brokers; demonstrated ability to accomplish or surpass results/goals independently.

Excellent training and presentation skills which include preparing and directing meetings, training sessions and/or presentations expressing self clearly and concisely, so the subject matter is easily understood by internal and external audiences.

Excellent verbal and written communication and facilitation skills, strong listening and reasoning skills, ability to work in a team environment and ability to communicate sensitive and/or confidential information to internal and external audiences.

Demonstrated ability to analyze results of commission programs and recommend changes.

Familiarity with agent licensing requirements.
The base pay annual salary range for this job is $50,000.00 - $110,000.00.
