    Job Summary

    Provides check in and check out administrative functions within the student health clinic, to include processing and reconciling payments, scheduling appointments for in-person and telehealth appointments, processing referrals and making appointments with outside providers/clinics, and tracking follow-up reports/medical records from outside providers. Responsible for answering telephone calls, routing medication faxes and student email requests for assistance to appropriate clinic personnel, and daily interactions with students at the clinic front desk.

    Responsibilities

    Responsibilities to include but not limited to:
    Check-out: Discharge students at the end of visit. Inform students of amount due and take payment. Post payments in practice manager. Contact students about out-standing fees on account. Process/Fax medical records request and give to SHS Coordinator. Verify charges on encounter form match within EMR system.
    Check-in: Check patients into the student health clinic at the front desk or with the self-check-in kiosk. Provide forms to students at check-in. Inform students of responsibility for payment and maintain treatment consent records. Ensure information on students is up to date, to include phone number, insurance card. Verify eligibility for services in Banner system. Check IDs. Notify clinical staff of need to triage students and when students are ready to be seen.
    Appointment Scheduling: Assist students with scheduling same day appointments via phone. Assist students in scheduling procedures/physicals therapy appointments. Inform students of responsibility for payment. Ensure information on students is up to date within the EMR system. Verify eligibility for services in AU Banner system. Call and/or email reminders to students of upcoming appointments, to include sending telehealth calendar requests and links. Answer multi-line telephone system. Direct phone calls to appropriate clinical staff as needed.
    Daily Deposit: Create daily deposit in University banking system. Deposit checks.
    Other: Keep check-in area and waiting room clean and organized. Assist visitors. Provide information to students. Restock brochure, magazines, water, cups, etc. in waiting room. Maintain inventory of office supplies for administrative purposes, and notify designated staff of supplies that need to be ordered. Serve as back-up for Referral processing. Additional duties as assigned by the Director of Student Health Services of Augusta University.

    Required Qualifications

    High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization and four years of experience in an office setting.

    Preferred Qualifications

    Experience working in ambulatory health care setting, preferably at a college/university health clinic.

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

    Ability to maintain confidentiality. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases. Detail-oriented. Knowledge of Electronic Health Records.

    Shift/Salary/Benefits

    Shift: Days: Mon-Fri.
    Pay Grade: 9
    Salary: $15.00
    Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position.

    Conditions of Employment

    The primary work location for this position is within the Augusta University Medical Center or other Augusta University Health System Clinic Space and is subject to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services guidelines.
