Planning, prioritizing and completing assignments with minimum supervision

Understand the proper use and protocols of communication equipment, including walkie talkies and school security tools (e.g. secure entry procedures).

Assists in all student attendance records into a database on a daily basis

Assists with a variety of daily, weekly, monthly, and year-end reports as required

Admits late students and students returning after absence following school procedures

Makes and receives phone calls, takes messages, and routes calls.

Collects statistical data and compiles data for reports; researches and updates files and databases; locates information for staff and others as authorized

Processes documents and materials (i.e. schedules, agendas, mail, etc.) for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties

Responds to inquiries of staff, the public, parents and/or students to provide information and/or direction as may be required.

Supports Director by providing assistance with their administrative functions

Assists with the safety and security of students, staff and building
-
Maintains high visibility at all times

Participates in parking lot supervision and bus loading/unloading
-
Assist with school-related investigations
-
While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in outside weather conditions.

Cross-trains in a variety of CAL functions, and assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities
-
Assists with the transportation needs of students, including walking them to and from the bus, supervision of students on the way to and from the bus, supervision of loading and unloading of busses, arranging for the transportation needs of students
-
Supports the relationship between the school and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with parents, community members, and other visitors
- Sit, stand or walk for prolonged periods of time
- Talk and hear conversations in a potentially noisy environment
- Use precise control of fingers and hand movement, often in a repetitive motion such as keyboarding
- Use close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
- Regularly focus on a computer screen
- Bending, stooping, kneeling and lifting and/or moving up to 40 pounds may also be required on occasion

The cost is $71.50 and is the responsibility of the employee. This employment is considered probationary pending return of the criminal records check from the FBI and Oregon State Police through the Oregon Department of Education.

The School Operations Support Assistant also assists with campus security supervision to maintain a safe and secure environment for all students, faculty, and staff. Additionally, the position assists in identifying policies and school protocols to prevent, detect, and confront threats to students and the school, and to help promote a safe and healthy educational environment.
