This is what you will do:

• Design and optimize novel biotherapeutics to treat rare diseases
• Shape the future of Discovery Research by contributing to therapeutic optimization team
• Develop and advance key assay platforms to advance our therapeutic protein optimization and selection

You will be responsible for:

• Optimizing candidate therapeutics for maximum potency, PK and safety
• Characterizing the functional properties of candidate therapeutics
• Characterization of the specificity and immunogenic potential of therapeutic candidates using internal and external resources
• Implementing novel technologies to improve throughput, efficiency and data quality
• Troubleshooting and optimizing experimental protocols
• Contributing to the identification / evaluation of new therapeutic targets
• Prioritizing tasks and delivering results under aggressive timelines
• Meticulous and timely record keeping
• Communicating results to cross-functional teams

You will need to have:

• Strong background and expertise in tissue culture

• Experience with the development of binding assays including ELISA, MSD, flow cytometry and label free biosensor platforms
• Experience with the development of cell-based functional assays
• Experience in the characterization of antibody specificity and immunogenicity
• Prioritization and multi-tasking skills
• Strong collaborative, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Highly organized with attention to detail
• PhD in cell biology, molecular biology or other related science with at least 5 years’ of relevant experience, MS with 7 years’ experience or BS with 10 years’ experience
• The duties of this role are generally conducted in a lab environment. As is typical of a lab-based role, employees must be able, with or without an accommodation to: lift/carry 15/30 pounds unassisted/assisted; work comfortably in a controlled environment with and around biological, infectious, and hazardous materials; gown/degown PPE; use a computer; engage in communications via phone, video, and electronic messaging; engage in problem solving and non-linear thought, analysis, and dialogue; collaborate with others; maintain general availability during standard business hours.

We would prefer for you to have:

• Independently troubleshoot and advance experiments
• Experience with optimizing therapeutic proteins for improved biophysical properties / stability
• Immunology experience and understanding
• Experience in the use of AI /machine learning in therapeutic optimization
