Description:
Cyborg Mobile is seeking and experienced Scrum Masterto join our well-known global retail client for a 12+month contract opportunity. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the product team delivers its commitments to business partners. This role works lock step with the product management team by diligently following the scrum framework to ensure the scrum capability owner has prepared backlogs that are prioritized and groomed, the team has estimated the sprint ahead, the active sprint has strong support on any impediments, and the team is able to rely on the scrum framework to guide the cadence of the product model. A continuous improvement culture will be facilitated by this role.

Responsibilities:
o Roll up your sleeves to creatively solve problems and tackle impediments with your team

o Communicate constantly with relevant information that others may action or learn from

o Demonstrate the value of scrum principles to members of the team

o Assert yourself as a voice of reason to ensure Agile concepts and principles are adhered to

o Make decisions when the going gets tough and facilitate decision-making moments for

others

o Provide rationale and state assumptions to validate those tough decisions

o Address and facilitate conflict, in the moment, with diplomacy and poise or possibly elevate

issues to management

o Energize the team with a positive attitude

o Continually seek to improve the teams velocity and growth while constantly seeking to

improve your own craft

o Empower the team to be self-organized yet structured around the scrum framework and

best practices

o Provide clear visibility into progress to the product owner and program manager

o Know when issues or risks need to be escalated and can escalate effectively, providing

options to move forwards

o Create and manage budgets and report on budget and status to the business

stakeholders, PMO, program technology management and multiple cross-functional partners

o Collaborate with the Scrum Capability Owner to ensure the teams sprint backlog is filled

with comprehensive user stories that are balanced across task types

o Adapt, pivot and change direction based on product owner direction and business needs

o Convey and illustrate the fundamentals of iterative development

o Understand the basic fundamentals of software development processes and procedures

o Commit the team to deliver the features of the sprint and check the pulse of this

commitment at each team stand up

o Manage backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, and task definition

o Highlight best practices, industry standards and Agile principles where guidance is needed

Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of scrum master / project manager role
  • Experience with retail and roll-out of new technologies, hardware and applications
  • Experience working in an agile development including tools like JIRA, Confluence and others
  • Experience managing project budgets in excess of $1M
  • Strong communication skills, team management and ability to build relationships across cross-functional teams
  • Core understanding of software development
  • Any exposure to Supply Chain and/or technology systems is a plus, specifically with sustainability/quality systems
  • 2+ more years of experience managing remote teams
  • Nice to have first level scrum training (Certified Scrum Master)
  • Demonstrated experience of instilling a continuous improvement culture
