Job Summary:
Assists in various departments, performing various tasks including general cleaning, making boxes and simple activities specific to each department. Has detailed knowledge of work area and processes to be able to help monitor and assist in operations.
Job Description:
Possess detailed and specific knowledge of assigned work area while adhering to pre-established guidelines and procedures. Also to perform general cleaning within the specific department assigned, including, but not limited to: wiping down, blowing down, sweeping, dusting, and vacuuming. Helps to monitor and assist in operations in work area. Duties can also include making boxes, stenciling, strapping & sealing, or taping boxes. Follows established Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), BDG policies and procedures and safety procedures while performing job duties.
Other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned by Department Manager, Supervisor, or Shift Lead.
POSITION DIMENSIONS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education Level and Focus:
High school diploma or equivalent required.

Skills and Abilities
Interpersonal and Communication:
Must have good communication skills to understand and take directions and work with others while performing their duties.
Technical and Analytical:
Must have detailed knowledge of work area to help monitor and assist in operations. Must be able to take direction to learn specific procedure requirements within the department in which they are assigned.
Administration and Operations:
Must understand Blue Diamond Growers HACCP processes, Good Manufacturing Procedures (GMPs), BDG policies and safety practices.
Physical Demands:
See Essential Functions Checklist. Overtime is required as production demands for this position. Must be able to lift minimum of 50 lb.
Work Environment:
Variety of work environments, depending on the department in which the general laborer is assigned, which may include high noise areas, high traffic areas, working around production machinery, almond dust, heat/cold or wet weather due to proximity to outside doors or openings.
Special Equipment Used:
Various tools may be used including, but not limited to: vacuums, air hoses, simple hand tools, stenciling equipment, computers, label printers, strapping equipment.
