Job description

The Town of Telluride is hiring a seasonal Street Crew Worker.

The Street Crew Worker works with the Public Works Department to remove ice and snow from sidewalks and connecting alleyways to provide safe, attractive, and well-maintained walkways for the Town’s residents and visitors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities*

• General maintenance of streets and sidewalks
• Trash and garbage removal
• Monitor trash areas and cleans when needed
• Recognizes and reports unsafe working conditions, injuries, and damage to the supervisor
• Utilizes Town provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and works safely to prevent accidents
• Completes other tasks and special projects as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent; Valid driver's license; 1 year of relevant maintenance experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

Knowledge of safe driving practices in winter conditions and use of basic hand and power tools. Skill in working independently and collaboratively; time management, attention to detail; understanding and abiding by Town safety rules; effective verbal communication;
Environmental Factors

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to work outside in a variety of weather conditions, such as high UV rays and cold temperatures.
Physical Factors

While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to sustain strenuous physical exertion, including lifting and carrying 50 lbs, moving snow and ice, shoveling, twisting, and bending.
Salary

• Summer Seasonal Position
• Hourly
• 5 days/week, 40 hours/week
• Grade 10; hourly minimum $ 18.82 - hourly maximum $ 25.41 DOQ
• $1/hour bonus for hours worked at the completion of the season.
