The Board of Education seeks a motivated teacher with a positive attitude to fill the role of Secondary Science Teacher with the Bellaire Public Schools.

Position: Secondary Mathematics Teacher
Building: Bellaire Middle/High School
Reports to: Superintendent/Secondary Principal
Hours: As scheduled (per Bellaire Education Association CBA)
Start Date: TBD
Minimum Qualifications:
- Highly Qualified, as per the Michigan Department of Education and No Child Left Behind (NCLB)
- Hold a valid Michigan Secondary Teaching Certificate (grades 6-12) with the Mathematics (EX) endorsement (or equivalent)
- Preference may be given to candidates with additional endorsements
- Must successfully pass a Criminal History Records check

- Possess a clear understanding of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) and how to effectively integrate them into lesson plans and daily instruction.
- Have experience in the design and delivery of effective, high-quality lessons with a focus on student mastery and student growth.
- Establish a sense of community within the instructional setting.
- Build and maintain a positive, constructive and controlled learning environment for students.
- Create and uphold a caring, productive, and well-managed learning environment that emphasizes positive behaviors.
- Maintain full awareness of the learning environment and student safety at all times.
- Maintain accurate educational records in accordance with law, district policy and administrative requests.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Secondary Principal and/or designee.
