Security Guard

Starting Pay Rate - $18/hr, holidays worked paid double-time

Shifts Available (Every other weekend)

• Part-time Variable Hours, Includes some Overnights, Weekends, and Holidays

Job Description

Guard, patrol, and monitor multi-acre campus containing outdoor spaces and several facilities to ensure property and personnel safety, observe and document infractions of company rules and policies, prevent illegal activities including theft and violence and respond according to protocols in emergency situations.

• Lock access and ensure the security of doors, windows, and gates of entrance and exit of LSI building.
• Patrol premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion doors, windows, and gates
• Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to guard against theft and maintain the safety and security of premises.
• Write and submit reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, safety infractions, unsafe conditions, or unusual occurrences.
• Inspect, maintain and adjust security systems, equipment, or machinery to ensure operational use.
• Monitor and adjust controls that regulate manufacturing and facility systems, such as air conditioning, furnaces, or boilers.
• Follow scripted protocol to notify appropriate LSI personnel in case of urgent security concerns, such as the presence of unauthorized persons. and in case of urgent safety concerns where an immediate hazard may exist.
• Call and cooperate with LSI EMR, police, or fire departments in emergency cases
• Answer alarms and investigate disturbances.

Minimum Requirement

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Stable work history.
• Must pass stringent drug and criminal background checks.
• Available to work an equal share of recognized holidays (double time).

Preferred Requirement

• One or more years of security guard or equivalent experience.

Functional Requirements

Routinely able to:

• Work in non-climate controlled indoor and outdoor environments, including hot and humid conditions
• Work in all weather conditions, indoors and outdoors.
• Sit, stand, and walk for up to 12 hours with intermittent breaks
• Manually lift and move product and materials up to 50 lbs. through regular physical exertion, including but not limited to reach forward, reach overhead, lift, carry, crouch, and bend
• Power grip and wrist turn, including the use of hand tools
• Push/pull up to 100 lbs.
• See, inspect, handle and evaluate materials
• Read and understand written English language work instructions
• Climb ladders and stairs of varying heights
• Wear task-based Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided by LSI
• Protective Footwear
• Hearing Protection
• Protective Eyewear
• Gloves
• Additional PPE may as required by specific tasks
