The overall responsibilities of the Security Guard include greeting and screening customers seeking services and maintaining the premises secured at all times. Salary is $16.50 per hour -guards and $19.50 per hour-Supervisors

KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Responsible for all company properties as assigned
• Provide information to visitors about facilities and regulations
• Touring buildings to guard against fire(A-2) theft or destruction and to protect clients, visitors and employees against violators
• Detecting, apprehending and reporting law violators to the NYC Police Department
• Investigating and make appropriate reports of violations, crimes, complaints, incidents, and accidents
• Rendering aid to accident victims and arranging medical attention as necessary
• Being punctual when reporting for duty
• Being fit for duty at all times, except when on sick report
• Reporting in writing (A-3) to the security Director any information of a police nature, including offences in which she/he may become involved, including being arrested while off-duty and moving traffic violations with the exception of parking violations
• Notify the security base when leaving post of duty for personal necessity (which will not exceed 15 minutes) or meal period as assigned
• Keeping informed of changes in rules and regulations
• Being respectful and courteous to others
• Maintaining a good appearance at all times

REQUIREMENTS:

• Vaccination against COVID-19 required·

• High School Diploma required.
• Associates/Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• F-02 Preferred.
• Two (2) years’ experience required. Shelter experience preferred.
• Familiarity with the immediate community and ability to spot and deal with security problems
• Ability to read and write order to make log entries; to follow written work schedules and to write incident reports as necessary
• Ability to maintain good work and personal habits
• Ability to maintain good work and personal habits
• Good physical fitness to cope with emergencies, mental alertness and emotional stability.
• General knowledge of organization, community and/or social service resources and programs.
• Bilingual – Spanish speaking a plus
