Nashville's famous Maxwell House Hotel is gearing up for a multi-million dollar remodel, and we are now hiring energetic and personable Security Managers. This position plays a HUGE role in creating and providing the best guest experience at the friendliest hotel in Nashville.

The Security Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the hotel security department on the assigned shift. This includes managing Security Officers, and providing effective leadership and guidance throughout the shift. The Security Manager will ensure a professional and efficient operation, ensuring all security policies and procedures are being followed appropriately.

Essential Functions

  • Acts as a representative of the department and property, interacting with guests and employees in a courteous, professional manner
  • Assigns Security teams to various locations according to job requirements and the officers’ abilities, skills, and experience.
  • Communicates with team members prior to the beginning of the shift to review policy and procedure changes, pertinent information from previous shifts, upcoming special events, and job-related information.
  • Ensures the security team adheres to uniform dress and grooming standards consistent with department and company standards.
  • Patrols the property to identify potential security and/or safety hazards.
  • Develop department members’ knowledge and skills through education, training, coaching, corrective counseling, etc.
  • Coordinates emergency situations.
  • Act as a liaison with the appropriate outside agencies during security incidents
  • Reviews all reports compiled on the shift for factual, readable, thorough, and timely information and ensures follow-ups for reports needing further investigation.
  • Communicates with hotel management regularly about changes, observations and recommendations concerning the Security Department.
  • Performs other job-related duties as requested

Qualifications

  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of various computer technology and software to include Microsoft Office applications.
  • Working knowledge of state and local laws and how to apply them.
  • Demonstrated experience in civilian or military law enforcement, hotel security, industrial security, or nightclub & special event security.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
