Overview:
The Sr. Accountant is responsible for maintaining the general ledger transactions as related to revenue. This position provides support in creating and maintaining integrity in the company’s financial statements as well as analytical reviews to support financial improvement. This role will also work with the Revenue team to ensure accurate revenue from all accounts as well as create pricing models that enable us to compete for new business, add to existing business, or accommodate changes in current operations. The role will also help prepare annual bugets and collaborate with internal teams to respond to external audit requests.

Responsibilities:
  • Completing monthly journal entries in Great Plains
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts as assigned
  • Preparing financial statement research
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly schedules provided for audits
  • Preparing revenue allocations by cost center
  • Assisting with both internal and external audit samples
  • Prepare pricing models for new and existing customer business as requested for pricing increases and renewals.
  • Review fuel scales and current contracts to ensure accurate budgets/pricing model.
  • Collaborate with operations and sales to finalize pricing models.
  • Prepare dedicated customer level budget according to budget timeliness.
Qualifications:
Knowledge Skills, and Abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge or experience working with GAAP
  • Strong Organizational Skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • GP, AS400, or other accounting system knowledge
  • Knowledge of general financial accounting/closing & reporting processes
  • Analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • 5+ years experience in an accounting role required.
  • Experience in the trucking/logistics industry preferred.
