The Position:

This position is on MoFi’s Accounting team. This team has high attention to detail, great communication, is organized, knowledgeable, and efficient. This role handles day-to-day transactions for MoFi’s operations and loan funds and ensures accurate and timely financial reporting to all funding sources and for MoFi’s subsidiary entities.

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing the financial reporting for all MoFi funding sources, including federal, foundation and private sources. They also manage the loans receivable and debt portfolios of MoFi, month end reconciliations between all software platforms, 1099 reporting, and assist with audit requests. The Senior Accountant has strong upward mobility potential within MoFi’s accounting team. This position reports to the Accounting & Compliance Manager.

The Job:

This position works with all departments at MoFi and external funders. This position also works closely with the Accounting Manager to ensure financial reporting is consistent, accurate and timely for all funders. Detailed job duties are listed here:

1. Manage financial reporting to MoFi’s funders

2. Daily cash management and journal entries for MoFi’s operations and loan funds

3. MoFi subsidiary treasury management

4. Manage reporting from borrowers and to investors for MoFi’s subsidiaries

5. Review, record, and reconcile MoFi borrower loan payments and MoFi debt payments

6. Process disbursements through check, wire, and ach transfers

7. Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and assist with the monthly close process

8. Complete month end bank reconciliations and accrual entries

9. Assist in accounts payable process as needed – processing, verifying, and recording invoices

10. Manage 1099 reporting process for vendors & investors

11. Assist accounting team with audit and 990 requests

12. All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA preferred

· Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience as a staff or senior accountant

· Auditing experience, preferred

· Excellent written & verbal communication

· Strong attention to detail and analytical skills with an emphasis on accuracy

· High level of self-organization, self-awareness, and strong prioritization abilities

· Enjoys learning, problem solving, and collaboration

· Ability to learn new software and databases quickly

· Works well across teams and in a fast-paced environment

· Strong excel and computer skills

· Embodies a growth mindset

· Thrives in a learning culture

· Requires ability to travel 25%

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
