SUMMARY

Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel (the “Property”) is a new facility in a high traffic area in the heart of Oak Grove, Kentucky, and across the street from a large Army post, Ft. Campbell. The Property is 10 miles from Clarksville, TN and less than 60 miles northwest of downtown Nashville, TN.

FUNCTION

The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing month-end, quarterly and annual close duties, analyzing department data, identifying opportunities for process improvement, and developing recommendations to monitor and sustain operational best practices within the company.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Consistently deliver positive, courteous and professional guest service in all interactions with guests, visitors, vendors and fellow employees
• Responsible for all casino accounting and financial reports – including, but not limited to weekly revenue reports, promotional recaps, budgets, and budget variances.
• Directs the activities of the audit and finance area under his/her supervision
• Prepares journal entries in accordance with GAAP, including but not limited to month-end accruals for assigned departments, factoring in accounts payable activity, experience averages, and calculated estimates.
• Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• Proficiency in interpreting an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several variables
• Prepares monthly reconciliation on assigned GL accounts.
• Assists in preparing inter-company billing sheets and documentation.
• Provide financial and operational analysis services for operations and internal departments
• Analyze department data including expenses, payroll, opportunities for improvement
• Assists in analyzing monthly financial statements including budget and prior year variance reports.
• Investigates variances from the balance sheet reconciliation and the P&L analysis, providing guidance for department heads and the Finance team.
• Prepares and processes tax reports and remittances as assigned.
• Supports the inventory count and purchasing system needs as necessary.
• Assists in analyzing manual cost transfers and inventory valuation.
• Stay abreast of current trends and practices within area of responsibility and communicate pertinent information to management, peers, direct reports and employees as appropriate.
• Assist with internal and external audits.
• Promotes honesty and trust amongst the team.
• Other duties as assigned.

STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE

• Available to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related area is preferred.
• 5 years of related accounting experience.
• Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to perform normal mathematical computations in regard to the implementation of current duties
• Ability to read, write, speak, understand or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the necessary functions of this position.
• Ability to write and present information to management in a reasonable manner.
• Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment and effectively communicate with guests, co-workers and management.
• Must be able to sit for extended periods of time without difficulty.
• Able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license
