POSITION TITLE: Senior Accounting Analyst

POSITION SUMMARY:

The accounting analyst is a newly created role within the finance/accounting team. This role is highly visible and expected to collaborate with our operations, supply chain, and sales groups to drive productivity and enhance reporting within the organization. The incumbent must have a curious mindset to question status quo and be comfortable with taking the lead to drive change.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Key responsibilities

  • Monthly general ledger account reconciliations, month-end close, and financial statements.
  • Participate in and lead cross functional teams to drive innovation in our managerial reporting.
  • Partner with other departments to ensure a high level of accuracy of information, while ensuring efficiencies are maximized in our month end cycle.
  • Analyze trends and report/recommend productivity initiatives.
    Lead budgeting and forecasting efforts.

Other duties

  • Develop processes and policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Support external audit and tax teams to ensure all information is provided in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Perform special projects and/or other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3–5-year progressive accounting/finance experience
  • Proven record of strong initiative, leadership, accountability, and effective communication
  • Curious nature, detail-oriented, analytical, and demonstrated problem-solving abilities
  • Proficient in GAAP
  • CPA is a plus

  • Manage multiple projects, set priorities, and pro-actively resolve challenges.

  • Open and direct communicator; excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills. Focus on detail and accuracy. Demonstrate an ability to interpret data and observations.
  • Self-motivated and can work autonomously in the absence of supervision under tight deadlines.
  • High ethical standards, trustworthy, respectful to all, and has ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Good judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Developed abilities in Windows Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and financial systems.
  • Ability to maintain compliance with schedules and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to be flexible and creative in identifying and resolving issues.
  • Ability to adapt quickly as department and business needs change.
