Job description

Seeking to hire a Senior Associate to support our clients in the energy industry. This position will be the primary accounting interface with the clients’ management team, lending institution, taxing authorities, audit firm and other stakeholders.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Responsible for the cash management and daily accounting, including timely communication with the client, asset manager, lenders, bank representatives, and vendors.
  • Responsible for performing monthly accounting close process.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements and financial reporting package to be provided to the client, lenders, and other third parties that require financial reporting deliverables.
  • Prepare monthly management reports for presentation to the client.
  • Maintain a strong client relationship as the key accounting contact.
  • Manage all debt compliance requirements and prepare required debt certificates and disbursement requests from the trustee.
  • Analyze and review monthly project expenditures.
  • Perform monthly account and budget to actual analysis.
  • Prepare annual operating budgets and forecasts.
  • Prepare comprehensive work papers and draft audit report for outside auditors.
  • Prepare supporting tax documentation for outside tax consultants.
  • Support Asset Manager with financial models, contract compliance, and day to day operations.
  • Maintain a strong system of internal accounting controls.
  • Responsible for ad-hoc requests from client as needed.

  • Strong analytical skills to analyze financial and operational information.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities; must be a self-starter and take the initiative in completing projects and assignments.
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • A driven individual who wants to grow professionally and be a part of a team environment.
  • Customer focused with strong attention to detail and capable of delivering accurate, quality results in a timely, consistent, and professional manner.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to be able to effectively work with internal and external resources.
  • Presentation skills to effectively communicate monthly financial updates to clients.
  • Strong Excel spreadsheet skills.
  • Undergraduate Accounting degree or CPA required with at least five years of energy related work, specifically power generation, in a financial discipline.
