  • Keep up-to-date with the latest literature; participate in group meetings to discuss findings.
  • Willingness to work in teams, including those in the Disease Intervention & Prevention Program, Quality Control and Quality Assessment teams, and with national and international collaborators.
  • Interact with graduate students, post-docs and technicians in a mentoring capacity.
  • Manage reporting, monitoring, resources, and laboratory personnel
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and budgets
  • Establish and improve procedures and processes by addressing issues and risks
  • Implement employee management solutions to improve productivity and efficiency
  • Ensure the lab establishes and maintains a calibration program for testing equipment that affects quality results

Our Ideal Candidate:
  • A PhD degree in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Virology or Cell Biology with an active publication record.
  • Great eagerness to solve scientific problems.
  • Ideal candidates would have training in basic virology techniques, including virus propagation in cell culture and embryonated chicken eggs, microscopy, cloning, and animal models of infection.
  • At least four years of hands-on experience working with animals and egg-based viral propagation is highly preferred.
  • Manager or Supervisor Experience – 2 years preferred
  • Experience with Inventory and Duties which Involve Counting, Entering Quantities, and Overall Inventory Management
  • Experience in Complex Scheduling
  • Experience with research in a collaborative setting
  • Strong Problem Solving, Training, Team Building, and Mentoring Abilities
