The Senior Business Analyst is responsible for performing analyses related to ongoing projects and initiatives in the Marketing and Services & Solutions Departments. This position will play a large part in the implementation and roll out of projects integral to the success of the organization. Duties will include developing technical solutions, culling and analyzing proprietary databases for customer targeting. Key focus will be on data analysis and leveraging technology to improve credit union’s member engagement, competitiveness and performance.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create both static and dynamic reports using software tools, such as SQL to address the reporting/targeting needs for Marketing, Branches and Member Services management; must be able to extrapolate the data and perform predictive modeling and cluster analysis. Ability to migrate/manipulate data within Excel and to SQL/ Sharepoint portal.
  • Analyzes data contained in multiple proprietary databases to identify data reporting issues with existing data and proposed reporting.
  • Assist in the development and tracking of various department metrics, including development and execution of regular marketing campaigns, monthly and/or quarterly reports.
  • Work with Management to identify departmental needs and determine technical solutions, acting as Subject Matter Expert (SME).
  • Coordinate efforts of both internal and external partners to source any needed data for customer targeting and segmentation.
  • Proactively identify and communicate issues, risks and/or barriers to completing assignments.
  • Database process mapping and maintaining data dictionary by revising and entering definitions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Experience and Qualification:

  • Minimum 5-8 years in data analysis/analytics. Financial services or banking experience a plus.
  • A college degree required in Business, Finance, Marketing, MIS or other related field.
  • The ability to motivate or influence others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant level of diplomacy and trust. Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the job.
  • A significant level of knowledge, trust and diplomacy is required to be an effective SME in the position.
  • Strong analytical and effective verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Superior time management skills, detail orientation, and the ability to multi-task are needed to succeed.
  • Comfortable working at a granular level of processes and documentation with tight deadlines.
  • Business Intelligence Skills that include proficiency in SQL Reporting Services and knowledge of SQL extract.
  • Databases and Query Structure. Proficient in Microsoft Excel & Access, including pivot tables, queries and utilizing formulas.
  • Project management experience desired.
  • Eloqua, Marketing Automation, and SalesForce CRM, Cloud database management experience a plus.
