About the Senior Cost Accountant Role:
As the Senior Cost Accountant, you will be a pivotal member of the Finance team and be responsible for the tactical execution of product costing and cost analysis our San Diego location. This includes but is not limited to costing and review of all products, review and support of costs associated with customer quotes, spend review and account assignment verification, inventory review and control along with site and corporate cost reporting requirements.
Responsibilities Include
  • Partnering with site leadership to ensure effective cost review is completed regularly to drive accountability and understanding while improving cost performance for the San Diego location.
  • Reviewing, tracking, and following up on Capital Expenditure spending to help create cost justifications for new projects.
  • Tracking submissions and approvals and monitoring spending from start to completion and closure.
  • Ensuring proper costing and valuation of inventory and review PPV drivers.
  • Providing reports and analysis of actual job costing that helps leadership drive improvements.
  • Developing and maintaining a rigorous cycle count program for the site through A,B,C classification and tight statistical performance to reduce full physical requirements.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate completion of cost reporting requirements (Flash, Spend Control, Supply Spend, CHROMM Usage, Past Dues, WFS, Labor Scorecard, CRT, Sales Detail, Qlikview, Budget and Forecast).
  • Supporting month-end close and reconciliation activities as assigned.
  • Conducting Ad hoc cost analysis as required.

Qualifications
If you have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting along with 3-5 years of accounting experience in a fast paced, collaborative administrative support role, then joining our client is a great career move! In addition to your education & experience, you must meet the requirements to be considered skills:
  • Ability to analyze cost data and provide insight to leadership on improvement opportunities.
  • Strong decision-making skills and the ability to use sound judgment and challenge assumptions when appropriate.
  • Proven ability to grow and learn in a fast-paced and high demand environment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of financial and accounting concepts, techniques, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven flexibility and ability to cope with pressure resulting from changing priorities and meeting tight deadlines and reporting requirements.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization to present complex ideas in a compelling and comprehensive manner.
  • Possess a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality in handling and having access to sensitive information.
  • Strong understanding of both financial and operational processes and controls.
  • Per FAA and ITAR requirements, incumbents must be U.S. Citizens or U.S. Permanent Residents.

Pay range $81,600 -$105,000
    • Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
