The Senior Customer Service Representative is responsible for handling all incoming Billing and Eligibility phone calls and for serving as the primary customer interface for departmental inquiries.
Positions in this function are responsible for providing expertise and customer service support to members, customers, and/or providers. Direct phone-based customer interaction to answer and resolve a wide variety of inquiries.
This position is full-time (40 hours/week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of (7:00am - 7:00pm). It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.
We offer at least 4 weeks of training. Training will be conducted virtually from your home.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensures quality customer service for internal and external customers
- Responds to incoming customer service requests, both verbal and written (calls, emails, chats)
- Places outgoing phone calls to complete follow-up on customer service requests as necessary
- Identifies and assesses customers' needs quickly and accurately
- Solves problems systematically, using sound business judgment
- Partners with other billing and eligibility department representatives to resolve complex customer service inquiries
- Monitors delegated customer service issues to ensure timely and accurate resolution
- Applies appropriate communication techniques when responding to customers, particularly in stressful situations.
- Informs and educates new customers regarding billing / invoicing set up and billing/payment procedures.
- Processes member terminations (i.e. phone disenrollment)
- Establishes and demonstrates competency in eligibility, billing and receivable systems and associated applications
- Addresses special (ad-hoc) projects as appropriate

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED (or higher)
- 2+ years of experience in a high-volume customer service setting analyzing and resolving customer concerns from basic to complex in nature
- Microsoft Office including Microsoft Word (create correspondence and work within templates), Microsoft Excel (ability to sort, filter, and create simple spreadsheets)
- Ability to work a flexible 8-hour shift between the hours of 7:00am - 7:00pm, Monday to Friday
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in a Call Center environment
- Experience working in a customer retention focused role
- Experience with UMR Insurance
- Experience with CPS Insurance
- Experience working in the Healthcare Industry
Telecommuting Requirements:
- Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
- Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $16.00 - $26.88. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $16.83 - $29.66.
