Position: Senior Cyber Security Engineer
Opportunity Overview

Position Details
Salary Range: $80,000-$110,000 a year. This is a full-time exempt position.
We strongly prefer candidates located within a commutable distance to company offices in Utica and Rome, NY, and the Air Force Research Lab, which is also located in Rome, NY. This a hybrid on-site and remote position. We may consider candidates in the Colorado Springs, CO area as additional facilities are located in that region.
Responsibilities and Duties
The successful candidate will apply subject matter expertise in various Cybersecurity areas including:
- Department of Defense (DoD) Risk Management Framework (RMF) guidance
- Security, Test and Evaluation (ST&E)
- System vulnerability and compliance in support of Authorization and Accreditation (A&A) throughout the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
The successful candidate will also support system A&A efforts through:
- Cyber risk assessment, policy analysis, technology evaluations, and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) security control validation
- Apply expertise in technology to analyze system security implementations, application security, and provide recommendations to decision makers and engineers
- Support the research of emerging technology, requisite security requirements and emerging threats
- Consult headquarters-level decision makers on the technical implementation of solutions for promoting the sustainment of cybersecurity across multiple technology areas.
Education and Certifications:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in cyber security, computer science, software engineering, information technology, or closely related technical field is strongly preferred.
DoD IAT Level II Compliant Security+ CE Certification (or able to acquire this certification within one month of hire)
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least seven years of experience providing cybersecurity, engineering, or operational support, including information assurance, network engineering, or systems administration.
- Three years' experience evaluating the compliance of a given system against current RMF and DoD Cybersecurity policies
- Experience with evaluating system security configurations to meet compliance standards
- Knowledge of Cybersecurity standards and the implementation of industry best practices
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent time management
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with various Operating Systems and Networking Technologies
- Experience with Cloud and DevSecOps
- Experience in working with the Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS)
- CompTIA Security+ CE, CSSLP, or CISSP Certification
- Knowledge of additional applicable regulations, including DoD 8500.02, DoD 8510, NIST SP 800-37, NIST SP 800-53 or 53A, NIST SP 800-30, and CNSSI 1253 is a plus
Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet and maintain eligibility requirements for, at minimum, Secret access to classified information. We strongly prefer applicants with an active Secret or TS clearance for this position.
Travel:
This position requires less than 20% travel outside of the Utica/Rome, NY or Colorado Springs, CO area.
