POSITION SUMMARY:
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Data Analyst. Under the direct supervision of the Senior Manager, Compliance the Senior Data Analyst will work across the organization to support new and ongoing Data initiatives. This is an experienced senior role with a focus on interpretation, visualization, and analysis of our data to help drive and support our decision making. The primary objective of the position is to understand the data and draw actionable conclusions and to recommend solutions. This person will play a key role in working with key stakeholders to identify needs and report outputs to clearly answer questions and drive decisions working with the Senior Manager, Compliance and Director of Data Services. This Full-time position pays $35 per hour and is in Chicago, IL.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provide innovative analytical insights within the data across CTPF.
· Conduct detailed data analysis on data used across business units to evaluate business processes.
· Respond to data and product related inquiries in real-time to support business and technical teams.
· Provide expertise and translate the business needs to design; and develop tools, techniques, and metrics, and dashboards for insights and data visualization.
· Accomplished related to designing dashboard and data summaries for technical and non-technical audiences and facilitating discussions.
· Go-to person for the Data Analysts with any data related questions they may have.
· Review and sign-off the team’s work prior to submitting it to supervisor or Manager.
· Identify data anomalies and investigate further.
· Document and bring forward solutions on any inconsistency in data patterns and anomalies.
· Perform a root-cause analysis of key problems relating to data
· Perform data reconciliation to identify data irregularities.
· Build a strong working relationship with internal departments to understand the team’s process as it relates to the Data cleansing.
· Works with management on any ideas, impediments, and challenges related to data or the processing of data.
· Provide expertise in design and develop metrics with dashboards for insights and visualization.
· Breakdown complex business problems and recommend practical solutions.
· Work with Functional Area Owners and Subject Matter Experts in each department.
· Mentor current/future Data Analysts.
· Other duties as assigned by Management.
Required Skills/Abilities:

· SQL and relational database knowledge
· At least 7-10 years of industry experience as a Business/Data Analyst with 3-5 experience in data analysis using tools such as SQL and Excel
· Practical knowledge of data in various forms (data warehouses/SQL, unstructured data environments)
· Familiarity with BI reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, or Business Objects.
· Demonstrated knowledge of data governance, data quality management concepts and data quality tools
· Understanding of Agile development methodologies, software design patterns, network design and architecture
· Experience in quantitative analysis and statistical modelling
Education and Experience:
· 5-7 years of relevant experience
· Knowledge and experience with the Fund’s pension software helpful but not required.
· High level of proficiency in relevant computer applications, including the Microsoft Office suite of products including Word and Excel.
Physical Requirements:
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee will sit for extended periods of time, with some standing and repetitive physical activity.
· The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment (i.e., computers, phones, and photocopiers).
